I know lots of you folks are partial to Kentucky's and with good reason from what I've seen.
The KY 675 is not top of the line, but the Monroe MMS-8W is. The prices are not all that discrepant. Without your help, I don't know which way to go since I haven't played either. I'll make the decision, but some thoughts will help and be appreciated.

Kentucky. From every possible angle. :)

Pat,
I thought so, but wanted to hear someone say it. I let an Eastman get away from me recently...Now that might have caused a little more looking at the angles. :)

Morgan Monroe instruments that I've played (more banjos than mandolins) seem to maximize cosmetics -- always very shiny and inlaid. Kentucky mandolins get consistent support as introductory instruments, and that continues up to the "entry professional" level, and even above in some cases. I'm a major Eastman supporter myself, now owning two mandolins, a mandola, and a mandocello, but based on what I know and what I've heard, I think you'd be better off with the Kentucky.

Don't waste your $ on the MM, all "bling" no "zing". Go with Kentucky, I've had both, voice of experience.

The message is loud and clear...and I'm grateful.
