About 3 minutes in, some improvised counterpoint (a technique used in early jazz of the 20's and 30's) between myself on OM and the brilliant Julian Lage on guitar.

I think, John, you've got a right to sing whatever you want to. Wow! Thanks for sharing it with us.

That was great, John. That Julian knows a thing or two, doesn't he - brilliant indeed. Well done.

Very nice! The contrast in tones between the archtop L-? and OM is great.

Wow. That's downright dirty and low. Gravel. Thanks.

Thanks John for sharing these great videos! I think I've watched every one like 2-3 times now. I must sadly admit that I was not that familiar with Julian Lage but since these videos and him being featured in the recent Fretboard Journal I now understand his greatness! There's a great video of him playing with Marc O'Connor and John Patitucci on youtube. He very much has a Chris Thile feel to me in the way he plays so effortlessly with such thoughtful technique and how moves while he plays (Thile actually plays on a track or 2 on Julian's recent solo release). He also seems to be very humble with his talent which is always a plus!
Your guy's counterpoint improv. was AMAZING and your octave mandolin picking is surely going down unexplored roads and it's awesome to see! I need an octave mandolin!!! Thanks a bunch again, John!
