For the past year or so i have been a merry old time plundering the local library for all the French regional folk music i can find. I'll admit right now that before this i was pretty ignorant as to French music, i was aware of the busy busy world of Breton music, but the exploration of the other regional musics has also been well worth the effort.
Now to the gist,
I would like to ask if anyone here has had any experience playing rigaudons or bourees?
These types of traditional dance tunes seem to be quite popular in some parts of the country, in fact i'm a little surprised that they have not migrated more into other traditional scenes... maybe they have i'm not sure.
Its an area that i'd like to explore more so if anyone has any links anecdotes or advice to offer on the subject i'd be grateful
