Well, more than slightly. I watched the movie yesterday
and of course tried the fast tremolo as soon as it was
finished. I am now stuck. I have no idea what note its supposed to start on but I started mine out of an E note
( second fret on the D string ) only because it seemed a bit easier to finger the next couple notes. I then worked it up to the point where I'm almost finished but for the life of me cant get the last 11 or 12 notes. I think it ends with a one note slide to an A note.
#If played starting on an E note what key is this thing
in ? I cant seem to find that either. What are those last couple notes ?

This is a long link but you can find the tab for Speak Softly Love - The Godfather Theme here. BTW you will need to download the tabledit reader to view the file..

NGCAZ I too was obsessed with learning that tune but I always seemed to jerky on the tremalo. Then I found a recording of it on guitar by Chet Atkins.. He plays it in a different key and is much smoother starting out at a lower scale. I dont know if you play by ear but if you can find Chets CD of it and get that key it will be a lot simpler. Just my 2 cents http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif

Yes, I play by ear mostly. Thats why I tried it out
of the first note being E then went from there. Seemed
easier than a couple other notes I tried, less movement
of the fingers and for some reason the tremelo went a
lot better. I have no idea what key that is or what
the chords would be. I thought some of the mando wizards
might be able to enlighten me as to what I'm fumbling
around with.
