Would anyone be intrested in all logining in at the same time so that we can break the current record of the most people ever online on this page?
If so what time?

Yea...I remember that day well! What fun it was, one of the highlights of my brief online internet surfing oddessy! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
That was actually a glitch- we've hit 120 roughly. That was when I cut the new server over but forgot to change the time zone, so some of the folks there were actually there a few months before.

I was actually going to post earlier that if this happens I hope we don't shut the whole message board down. Good luck Dan.

With the worldwide participation this site that may not be as easy as "ok, when". #Lot of time zones are spanned and I know me for one couldn't really just pick a time and for sure be there with all the other commitments I have...heck im usually here twice a day at least, but it's a "as time permits" fix of mando-centric pleasure!
The current hardware/software combination on the board should be able to handle up to 200 users online, searching, posting etc at once.. and maybe a couple monkeying around on the mandolin archive too http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I don't know about these kind of stunts -- it reminds me of the 50th anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge. For a period of time, they closed the bridge to automobile traffic and only allowed people on. It was so sardined that the bridge literally began to sag in the middle and the administrators panicked at the possibility it might collapse under the stress load. Do we really need to crash the Cafe for fun?

you are worried about the server crashing!
Ok here is a question 1) how much bandwith do you have on your server 2) the message board is the smallest page on the web site 3) if we are really worried we can logon in 5 min intervals so its not 200 people hitting the page at 1 time
ok
