Has anybody tried to rout a hole in a cheap mando and drop in a resonator cone?

Yep, did it with a Johnson, my first mando, but couldn't find a 6" cone so used a stove drip-pan just to experiment. Turned out pretty well considering but would be much better with an actual spun cone. Know where to get one? All I could find was the tri-cones used in conjunction with a spider, nothing set-up for a biscuit bridge.
