Anyone know where I can buy plans for the teardrop shaped mandolin with a canted top and oval soundhole? I really like mine but it's falling apart so I want to see if I can make a new one before it's restored.

Thanks,
Ian

They look something like this...

Hi Ian:

You might check out Graham McDonald's new book "The Mandolin Project". He has plans for and a chapter on canted tops. It's an excellent resource.

Best,
Eric

Here you go. i have this exact plan and it is the martin style with canted top. It's by Scott Antes. The image on their site is not the greatest but this is it...Mike

They don't have them in stock.

Well, tell them to GET them in stock!
I never...
You might try LMII or Stew-mac, they used to keep Antes plans.
You can actually find Scott Antes himself and ask him, I think he'll send out a set or two, but don't tell him I put you on to him.

The Antes plan is in stock, the Pilgrim's Projects plan isn't.
