Strings going flat

Recently noted that when I am chopping pretty hard on my mando, but only muting the strings, not actually playing the chord, my A strings, and only my A strings, are going flat. So I figured it was the original equipment cheap tuners...I replaced them with Grovers...same problem.

Any ideas? The bridge isn't moving and the tail piece isn't coming loose either.

I have noticed that when my A stings won't stay in tune, it is time for new strings. I am guessing, though, that you may have changed them when you changed the tuners. If not, give a new set a try!

I had the same problem on my new Breedlove. A high quality set up fixed the problem (Greg at The Classic Ax in Nashville).

Nashville is about six hours from here, but I will be passing that way in the near future. I will look them up.
