This is a reply I received from Anne Stanley, the wife of stanley here on the board, to an e-mail I recently sent to Bill:

Hello Mike,

I am very sorry to tell you that Bill died an a car accicdent on the way home from Las Vegas airport on September 6th. I was in the car with him and we had just had three great weeks with his family.

I can not belive I am writing these words to you as I can not believe it myself. I am devastated and dont know how I will live without him him. He was my life

Anne Stanely

To those that had the pleasure to meet him, he graced us all with his non-stop enjoyment of life in general, he always seemed to find himself in the middle of whatever was going on at the time, jumping in with a smile on his face and infectious energy to spare. He'll be sorely missed by many.

What a tragic loss. Bill was such a wonderfull guy. This is shocking way to wake up this morning. For those you met Bill, you know just how 'top-knotch' he was. My thoughts go out to Anne. This is very sad news.

I'm sad to hear that. We're a group, I feel sad when one goes. Especially not in his sleep. Please give our thoughts to his wife, it's gotta be surreal for her right now.

These times leave me at a loss for words...My heartfelt condolences to his family. He sounds like a gentleman who left no fence unmended. My sincere wish is for his family to find strength in that, both now & in the future.

I didn't personally know him myself but I do extend my prayers for the family as I understand the loss of a close family member.

I'm relatively new here, but this kind of news creates that instant lump inside. If this gentleman was as kind and friendly as all whom I have chatted with, I know it must be a sad loss for everyone here. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. Perhaps sonmething could be sent from the group? I would gladly contribute.

I'm terribly sorry to hear this, really very sad indeed.

I was in touch with Bill quite a bit this summer regarding Anne and Bill's trip to the North of Scotland, where I live. As it turned out, I had to be away at the time they were around so I never got to meet them.

My deepest condolences to Anne and his family.

So long, Bill. We were richer for you company, and poorer in your parting.

My sympathy to the family and friends who are missing him, and my regrets I never knew him; he sounds like a fine fellow of the sort the world needs.
