I had the wonderful oppurtunity to play a Distressed Master at the Showcase a while back. The one at the Showcase had an abreviated wooden pickguard on it. None of the pictures I have seen of it have this kind of pickgurad. Dose anyone know what is going on here?

Of course I do.

So if you work for Gibson, can you buy a mando, and have them decduct payments from your paycheck before you get it, and have the payments be tax free? Kinda like 401k contributions? Now THAT would be cool. They should set something up that with payroll at MY company http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Unfortunately no. We have to belly us just like every one else. However, the mandolin in question is one for the store. If someone likes that mandolin but wants no pickguard or one with a convention pickguard, it will be done at the time of sale. I just kink of liked that combination. I have an abrieviated pickguard on one of my mandolins of Macassar ebony and liked it. Thought it would be cool.
