For those of you that have seen or had both Reunion Blues and Glenn Cronkhite leather gig bags, I'm curious about one thing. Are they fairly similar in terms of stiffness and structure? I know that the RB bag is pretty stiff and "structured" i.e. it holds it shape well. Is the Cronkhite bag similar, or is it more soft and flexible?

I've never seen an RB, but my GC holds its shape very well, partly because of the leather, partly because of the various kinds and thicknesses of foam inside. I would not hesitate to recommend one if this is what you are looking for.

Is it rigid in the sense that, if you leaned it against the wall (w/o the mando inside), it would stand up rather than fold and fall down? I know that may sound like kind of a dumb question, but it gives me a sense of the nature of the beast.

'real'?

I was gifted with a Reunion Blues leather mandolin bag and it's VERY nice and definitely real

Glenn has an impeccable reputation for the highest quality gig bags made for any instrument that can be fitted for one
btw
he started Reunion Blues
