Haven't seen it posted yet, but Sonya Isaacs and Jimmy Yeary (lead singer for Shennandoah) were recently married. (I'd say he's a mighty lucky man);)

My wife and I have had four wonderful years of marriage. Not bad out of 41! :) . To be sure there is mandolin content, Sonyia has a great mandolin and plays it well. Looks pretty good holding it too! I don't looks so good holding mine.

It's true. Sonya Isaacs caused a bit of a stir in the gospel music community when shegot divorced a few years back. She seems happier now, so good for her. The ceremony was held on 12/20/09 at the Hermitage Hotel in downtown Nashville. From the baker (www.coveredwithicing.com) of the wedding cake (Sour Cream Almond and Red Velvet with Cheesecake Swiss Meringue buttercream):

There were three musical breaks in the ceremony. The first was Vince Gill singing The Rock of Your Love with Ben Isaacs and Becky Isaacs Bowman, Sonya’s brother and sister and two of the four members of The Isaacs. As Vince was singing, his voice cracked as he was incredibly touched by the happy couple and I’m certain that 200+ guests choked up at the same time. Jimmy and Sonya sang a tune they had just completed called Feels Like Christmas to one another as soon as they finished their vows. It was an honor to witness the first time that song was sung before an audience and I’m looking forward to the release on an album in the future. The Gaither Vocal Band’s I Then Shall Live was played during the lighting of the Unity Candle and the Kneeling Bench.

Here's a pic from the wedding, a nice shot of the happy couple, and a reminder of why she's being mentioned here in the first place. :mandosmiley:

Sonya Isaacs is a great Bluegrass mandolinist & has arguably the best voice in all Bluegrass.

I credit her with getting me back into bluegrass.

One of my favorite song lyrics - and I cannot for the life of me remember the name of the composer to give credit - is "The best years in our lives were the Goodyears on our car."
