Melbourne E. Bay 1913-1997.
I could not imagine music without this great man.
I saw his picture for the first time a few days ago, and have been reading about his life. What a tremendous influence Mel Bay has been on my life.

He was into educating the masses before most others even considered it. Considering the methods that were available in that time, it was pretty incredible. I certainly went through a few of his books both learning and teaching... back when I wasn't so old and crotchety. :) .

In one of the songs on Lester & Chester the two guitar greats get a bit confused at the end of the song and decide they'd better order some Mel Bay books...
