crack in mandolin Back or just where it joins?

just bought a Morgan Monroe MFM 300 off of E-bay and it appears that there is a crack that goes half way down on the inside of the back of the mandolin. I was curious if this is where the two pieces of wood are joined or if it is supposed to be a solid piece of wood?

Most mandolins have a joint on the back but you may have a crack if there is a gap in between the joint.
