I have to ask this question. I always check to see if these tours come our way, and lo and behold, Raleigh is 2.5 hours away and Richmond 3. What am I in for if I go? OR What am I missing if I stay home?
I don't any music by these two. Have they done a recording together? Do they have other band members touring with them or is it just mandolin? (Not that there;s anyting wrong with that!)

If you go, you will hear two of the best Monroe-style mandolin players on the scene today. Their concerts are excellent showcases for both their mandolin stylings, as well as their vocals, and Mike Compton's versatility on the tenor guitar.
If you stay home, there is the soap-opera re-runs.... or better, the metronome!
GO! I saw them in Madison, and it was great. If you get a chance, go to the workshop if they're being offered.

David - The Point date in Bryn Mawr, PA on October 1 will be great- saw Del McCoury a while back there and its a tremendous venue, very friendly and intimate. Has a real history, from Warren Zevon to Jackson Browne to even Bruce Springsteen. They show some other guy on their website that night - hope it changes. And, when do we know if a workshop is being offered? It's BYOB if I recall (gave Ronnie a cold Sierra Nevada pale ale last time), and there's a decent pub across the street. Bryn Mawr itself has plenty of restaurants etc. Cool!

Folks,
The Point web site has an early show scheduled at 7PM. Some singer songwriter I think. Our show is later, around 9:30 I think. They said they should be posting show times today or tomorrow. I'll post again when they do. Looking forward to playing in Philly.

Ethan,
It's either go to IBMA and spend money, or go work and make (some) money. I wish I could.

Good idea, make money instead of spending it, for some reason I have a habit of reversing those things all too often? Good luck with the gigs, if they were anywhere near me I would sure be attending one. If you guys are ever interested in doing something in the Columbus OH area let me know it ain't that far from Penn...

I was discussing the possibility of having David and Mike do a workshop while in Philly and David seems interested. We need at least 10, so let's hear it if you are interested. It could be Friday afternoon, or early evening since the show does not start until 10pm. Either post or e-mail me and I will start a list.
