View Full Version : Mandos in Texas?
I am visiting Dallas for a few days, therefore I was thinking some of you may have suggestions of things to do. Is their some cool mandolin shops somewhere? Any cool bluegrass jams? Anything to do with mandolin?
Oh it would be very nice.

Without knowing when you're going to be in the DFW area, can't help you much with events. #However, there is a great jam on Saturday evenings on the square in Garland (Dallas suburb). Lot's of pickers, all levels. Walk around and play where you feel comfortable.
A couple of shops usually have some mandos in stock. Charley's Guitar Shop had about 4 Gibsons and 4 or 5 Webers last week when I was there. At the corner of Royal Lane and Denton Dr.
Also, Larry Morgan Music out in Garland is a Weber dealer. Not sure about Gibson though.
Let me know approx. dates of your visit and maybe I'll have more.
Also, check the Festival and Jam pages at: wwwsouthwestbluegrassclub.com #You may find something there that insterests you. I haven't posted October and Novemeber events yet though.
Cheers,
Earl

How about Lubbock? I'm going to Lubbock on the 30th of September for a family reunion, I'm only there for three days, but figure a couple hours of family will be enough to have me hunting for a jam.
so i went the jam at the square and man that kicked booty.
