Just finished reading BU and saw a question that has bugged me for awhile and thought I would seek the wisdom of this forum. Is there a program available for either PC or MAC that allows storage of records, CD's, Cassettes etc; of songs and players that lets you retrieve them by group, song or individual? I've been trying to figure that one out for a long time. Thanks, Kenc

iTunes for both Mac and PC will do what you want for music on CDs. You'll have to put load your CDs on to your hard drive to access them and find what you're looking for. You would have to get your cassettes and LPs into your computer in some way so iTunes can read them. You can play back music in iTunes on your computer or on your iPod which allows you to scroll through your list by album, artist, or song. It's extremely handy--I use it all the time. And once the files are on your computer, you can also use Transcribe! or similar program to slow them down for study.

I have both itunes and Musicmatch Jukebox, and prefer Musicmatch. It has much better controls for importing music. They are similer in a lot of ways, I just find Musicmatch easyer to use. One good thing about iTunes is that it is free. I think. I don't know about Transcribe however, so can't comment on that.
