View Full Version : Mandolin sounds
So other than the song project page every month, is their a page where we can find links to sound clips of mandolins that belong to some members? If not if you guys have links to them maybe we can post them on this thread. Cause Id really like to hear some or your mandos, and some pickin.

We have sound bites from our band's CD at our website too - Copenhagen Mountain Boys. #Here a link to a tune I wrote in honor of Victor Smith, who built my Flatbush A4.

I've got some videos on my site of my Laura Ratcliff (http://dasspunk.com/index.php?wl_mode=more&wl_eid=120) and my Rose (http://dasspunk.com/index.php?wl_mode=more&wl_eid=118).
If you're feeling brave, you could pilfer through the basement recordings from one of my trips to the Secret State... (http://www.dasspunk.com/music/secretstate/)
These are very good musicians here.

There's sound clips at our band site, Half Day (http://www.halfdaybluegrass.com). The clips are from tunes where I'm playing either a Nugget F5, a Gibson MM, an Old Wave F5, or a Rigel CT-110. What a mix! Most are from the studio, but some are recorded live. It's Mp3 and real audio, so the sound quality isn't all that great. Neither is my picking, for that matter http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif But it may be interesting to see if folks can pick out which mando is which.

Thanks http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif On a rare occasion a tune like that will come together in a live performance. Lucky enough I was taping that one! That was the Gibson MM on that cut.

Uncle Ken,
Verrrry nice,
Do you have any other Beatles stuff worked out?
Love to hear it. I am going to lift your arrangement of LSD
here.
Great stuff. What type of f4 f5 is it that you are playing?

Dave, that's actually an easy song for mandolin with lots of open strings. Here are links to the F4 (http://www.mandolinarchive.com/perl/show_mando.pl?2845) and F5 (http://www.mandolinarchive.com/perl/show_mando.pl?2735) in the archive.

Check out the thread in Folk, country . Most of the people that have posted are home based but some really good stuff. I only wish that more Homey's would post their stuff .
