Hi, I am a new guy. I have a Kentucky 620 and recently purchased a Big Muddy M-4.
Each day when i begin to practice, I notice that all of my strings are equally out of tune. It seems like the tuners are slipping overnite.
Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bobby

How far out? Is your house cold at night?

10-20 cent.
temp is around 70-75. No dramatic changes.
Thanks,

I've noticed the same thing with my Eastman. I think it may be caused by humidity changes even though the temperature does not change dramatically.

Also, do you lock your strings when winding on the posts? If not they may slip just enough to cause the problem.

Weird. Are they brand new strings?

Do you lock the strings on the post when you change strings?

Seems very unlikely to me that it is the tuning machines.

I just bought both or them. They are the strings that came on them.

If they are brand new strings they will probably settle down in a couple of days and stay real close. But I must say, I tune my instrument first thing when I pick it up every time, so maybe its just the way life is???

I bought both instruments used. Just wanted to get an opinion since I am new to this style of tuner.
Thanks,

I think you're seeing a normal phenomenon, brought about by small changes in temperature and humidity.

Think about the likelihood of 8 tuners all slipping just enough to make all the strings out of tune by the same amount. I don't think so.

Just tune and play, and enjoy.
