It's been well over a year since I've had this issue, but I've had two reports of D string flaws halfway through my most recent batch of 200 sets. Ironic that this would fall on the heels of yet another gushy JM11 praise thread on these, but it's important I make them right. I have a ready supply of replacement Ds if this problem is plaguing you.
Here's the deal, if your strings don't intonate identically up the string, perfect intonation within the pair itself all the way to the 12th fret when you first put them on, you probably have a faulty string core. Please email me offline and I will take care of you. This is on the D string only; it doesn't decay over time, you'll notice it right away.
