My beautiful mandolin

I have just been given two incredibly (I think old Mandolins) they look so diffferent to the flatter mandolins. (which I have seen on this site)
The date inside one of them is 1910.
They appear to have been made by an Italian.(I am based in England)
This is my first post, they are such beautiful things, I also love the sound lots of you make on this site.
You have inspired me to put away my acoustic and join you.

i too was given a mandolin - in fact, many of the instruments i own were obtained "by the kindness of - " ... intimates and friends - life is wonderful.

hope you like these instruments and learn to enjoy your (our) good fortune in owning them, to the fullest.

Thank you for friendly reply, I am glad you view the positive as being an essential.
My Mandolins were also given to my my generous father in law.
The sculptor in my just marvels at the shape, the sound well that will come later.
