Hello I just purchased a Mandolin I found at a flea mart which looks to be very new. There doesnt seem to be any name that I can see on this mandolin. It is an electric mandolin fitted with one black pickup. The only thing I see which might identify it is a cursif looking E on the headstock. I dont see anything else that would lead me to know who makes it. Any suggestions or help with finding hidden markings would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi welcome to the cafe.

we can't see anything to lead us to know either... I'm sure a jpeg would help things along...

attaching an image is easy... take some digital pics, and upload them to a post using the manage attachments function just below your text box. more help with this is can be found in the How to post an image (http://www.mandolincafe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=827) thread... you can also use third party sites to upload pics to appear within your text via a slightly different process...

I'm sure MrMando will chime in no sooner as you post a pic... he's a resident E-mando specialist and seems to nail the "what do i have" threads quite quickly, even the accoustic ones.

you could also try searching Emando.com (http://www.emando.com/) for some E-mandos starting with E... you may strike it lucky and spy a mando that looks like yours.

Enderby (http://www.emando.com/builders_active/Enderby.htm) has a cursive looking E on the headstock, though that hardly seems like the type of item one would find at a flea market.

Yeah, but if you did, how cool would that be?! :)

Photos would clearly help. If it's a lower-case E, it might be an Epiphone. Their logo is a lower-case E looking somewhat like a trident, or like the Euro sign with only stroke instead of two. However, they usually have that logo on the pickguard and the full name on the headstock.

Another possibility might be Errington. His current instruments have the full name on the headstock, but I'm fairly sure there was an early model on EBay last year with just an E.

Realistically, a "very new" looking instrument sold at a fleamarket is more likely to be a no-name Asian import. Again, photos should clarify.

"Eleca" sells mandolins with a lower case "e" on the headstock. I've seen them with the "e" as the first letter in "eleca" and just by itself. Don't seem to see any electric models via the Google. Here's an A and there's F's out there too.

Do you mean electric like a solid body or an acoustic with a pickup?

(Edit) Whoops! Same site has an electric/acoustic eleca:
