I helped an aquaintance sell a couple of violins and I got one of these for my efforts. I play guitar. My interest is for my 9yr old daughter. She is quite the fiddle player and I thought she might enjoy learning to play this since they are tuned the same.

I had the luthier who bought the violins inspect it. He said it wasn't worth much but he was surprised by the condition. It is in great condition. Nice straight neck, great action and no other issues.

Anybody have any thoughts on these instruments?:mandosmiley:

F-holes? Flat-top or arch-top? I have a flat-top with F-holes that plays and sounds pretty good. Good luck with it!

I have had the same experience, mine would be an excellent starter mandolin.

Here's a couple recent threads on Harmony mandolins:

Mike Compton and John McGann started on Harmonies, so they can't be all that bad!!
