I don't know what the RM is for but I have an Eastman 805D (two pointer) and used to have an Eastman 814 (F4 style). If it's a varnished one, it will sound a bit different than other Eastman models. Often, folks say that in a room full of Eastmans, the higher the number does not always = best sound. Sometimes its the 9XX sometimes its the 5XX. Maybe that means their consistent across the line, relatively speaking, with normal instrument variations.
the difference between the 5, 6, 8, and 900 models is fanciness of wood, binding level, and tuners (different for the 500 models but still quite serviceable). I suspect they are all still carved with the same level of attention to detail.
I really like the Eastman line of instruments from the entry models 50X through the David Grisman models. I think to improve on the Eastman you currently have, you would need them in hand to hear each specific one, or consider getting an oval hole since (if I recall correctly) you have an F hole model.

The new MD915RM is outstanding!
Many people have expressed how much they like our MD815/v which we introduced at the beginning of last year...well, the 915RM is like the 815v on steroids!
A few people got to play it at winter and summer NAMM so hopefully they can chime in here.
