Yes, yes, I know this is going to draw a lot of ire out of some of you, and I wouldn't be surprised if this topic gets locked. But seriously, I can't be the only one out there who thinks that the Beatles were just a bunch of guys with annoying voices who sang inane lyrics to songs with stupid melodies.
I'm sure some of you out there are in a sputtering rage by now, but please, respect my opinions, and I'll respect yours. I am not out for insults and diatribes, I just want other people's opinion on the Beatles. No biting.

Yes, of course, anyone with a dissenting opinion on a topic and who wants to discuss it is obviously a troll.

Yeah, I agree. If there was ever a thread that needed to be locked, it is this one.
Apparently I was wrong in thinking we were better than this. I want an open discussion about not liking the Beatles, and all I get is grief. Believe it or not, I was not looking for angry responses, just intelligent comments. But hey, whatever.

Maybe not, but that is not even close to what has happened here. You started this thread with an obvious and gigantic chip on your shoulder, knowing full well that it would probably become a locked topic, and then proceeded to make this highly intelligent, well thought-out declarative statement:

Pardon my incredulity, but this is not the method one would expect for expressing a "dissenting opinion" and wanting to "discuss" it.

Hint: Any thread with some form of the verb "hate" in the title is already tagged for Moderator kill. Start it off with the tact of an unflushed toilet, set up a topic guaranteed to attack someone else's personal tastes and sensibilities, it dies even quicker. This one, barely 20 minutes.
