Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone out there had gotten their Weber with the new option of the K&K pickup installed by Weber when built. How does the K&K "fit" with Weber's cast tailpiece?

In addition, was wondering if anyone's sent their mando back to Weber for K&K installation.

Cheers!

K&K are great pick ups, as many threads here on the Cafe will attest. I just ordered more for stock as they have proven to be quite poular. It is always a case by case basis but they seem to offer more headroom before feed back than most other pick ups.

Yes, I'm a fan of K&K also (have the Quantum Trinity in my Collings dread): I was wondering though, where Weber puts the jack in their mandos. The Weber tailpiece offers no logical exit/ plug-in point, at least for a 1/4" jack.

Hole for the Tapered end button gets reamed out to 0.5 inch and you put a Jack/button in. normal install.

for my A50 they had a Waverly Cloud TP, as do Martins , no end button at all.

so the electrifying conversion used a plate for Less Paul Jr Guitars , with 4 small screws
holding the plate onto instrument's rim , and the plate holding the Jack, Tidy job.

see Tapastring 1/8" jacks for unmodifyed tapered end pin replacement installastions .

The original question should be posed to the nice folks at Weber. They can tell you precisely how they make the installation, with no second guessing.
