Greetings:

Welcome to Charleston, how long will you be here?

Guy and Tinas Pickin Parlor every Saturday from 7:00 till 11:59, in Bethera, SC about 45-60 min from Charleston.

I play at mandolin, not well but I do enjoy the musical challenge.

Sincerely

Mike

Might be around for 5 or 6 months - unsure for certain. I'll add this one to my list.
Thanks Mike

Just 2 hours south of Charleston is Randy Wood's shop in Bloomingdale, Georgia. There is a jam session most every Saturday from noon until around 4 or 5. Even without the jam session it's worth a visit.

You may want to check with Fox's Music in North Charleston...they've been there a while and tended to have pickers working the store (though their folk section wasn't great) when I lived there (over 5 years ago, though). There's also a music store/recording studio in Mount Pleasant that you can see off of Coleman Boulevard just past Shem Creek on the right, pretty close to Half Moon Outfitters and also the Presbyterian Church...guy who runs it is named Roger, and he can pick most things with strings on it...he may be able to steer you in the right direction as well. Sorry I can't remember his last name or the store, but it's been a while. I can see the building in my mind's eye, though...

I host a weekly jam in Murrells Inlet, SC (Myrtle Beach Area) which is about 90 minutes north of Charleston. Look me up when you get in the area.

Charleston is an awesome musical town. I travel all over the country and always look forward to going home and some great local talent.
