I just put in my order for my Loar LM-700-VS.

What are everyone's thought about this mandolin? I am so excited to get it and see how beautiful it really is in person. I'm sure this is leaps and bounds better than my current Epiphone MM-50.

Would love to see pics and get your observations on the 700...I got a LM-600-VS a little over a month ago now and really like how it plays, sounds, etc.

Hopefully you are going to be happy with the LM-700-VS...standing by for pics and sound clips!

Luckily my girlfriend is a professional photographer so I'll be getting some gorgeous pictures of this mando.

I'll get you some sound clips as well. No promises on good clips though. This is the classic story of a "new driver in a race car". Haha. We'll see what I can come up with. I am SO SO excited about getting it though!

I'll keep you all up to date.

Welcome to the club! Do let us know what you think of it when it arrives.

My LM600 just celebrated its 1st anniversary with me and it sounds better all the time. (It's also wearing a few scars from gigs, but they're all earned).

How long does it take to get one of these?

I ordered mine last night and Robert from Folkmusician.com emailed me this morning that they are getting 2 in either tomorrow or Monday. Mine is one of them. It's been a few months since they've had some so if you even slightly interested I'd jump on the other one they are receiving.

I believe they are imported, but I know that are 100% hand carved and hand laquered from AAA spruce and AAA flame maple.

Here are some stats:
Mine are all sold, I tried to get more, but couldn't.
One of these LM-700-VS mandolins I am receiving today is from an order I originally placed in Dec 2008.
This batch that just arrived only contained 7-8 mandolins.
Word is, there are still close to 60 dealer back-orders for the LM-700-VS.
The next batch is expected in 1-2 months. Not sure how many there will be. Surely not enough to fill all the back-orders. :)

I'm having a Lou Gehrig moment about my timing on this.

Today.... I consider myself..... The luckiest man.... On the face of the Earth...

Haha! Thanks so much for the speedy service!

Heads up for anyone interested in one of these, my local dealer in Arroyo Grande ordered some a year back (at my insistence!) and I got my LM-700 a few months ago. Hard choice over the other one (that was "louder" and more "sparkly") - as far as I know he still has that one and at least one LM-600. Its a nice shop to visit (near San Luis Obispo, two hours north of Santa Barbara) - lots of interesting things besides his mandolins. Lightnin Joe's Guitar Emporium. Tell him I sent you down for at least an extra smile .... good people, small family operation.

,,,so if you even slightly interested I'd jump on the other one they are receiving.

Why would you want to jump on a mandolin...?

I thought that was an old banjo joke,,, "What's the difference between a trampoline and a banjo..."

I am serial #99. This mandolin plays like an absolute dream. I am so happy with it! Can't wait for it to start to open up! My girlfriend is a photographer so I set up a shoot with her for Wednesday. Look for more pics!
