Anybody know if there's any oil or gas in Nova Scotia?

There's an ad in the classifieds offering to trade 2 acres up there for a Gibson. I don't have a Gibson to trade, but if the mineral rights go with it, I could buy a mandolin....

I'll talk to a geologist tomorrow. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

Cape Breton is pretty well mined out coal country. You might find oil...if you slant drill into the ocean. For the model they are asking for (70s-80s Gibson) I expect it is either a joke listing, or they have title to part of the Sydney Tar Ponds (Google it). http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif

Lots of offshore gas in Nova Scotia, but nothing on the land at this time. It is mostly shield with farming done in the river valleys. It would depend on where the land is to it's value. Climate is like coastal Maine. If it reaches 0 degrees Fahrenheit, that is a cold winter day here. Spring is a few weeks later than say Southeren Ontario.

Could be a good deal for a cottage, there is a lot of great music here, especially on Cape Breton Island. People are very friendly, I am not a native Nova Scotian (Ontario) but have lived here a total of 29 years since 1966.
