I'm looking for information regarding an old Montgomery Ward roundback mandolin called "The Apollo." It's in great shape -- no cracks, splits or other problems. The neck is straight and the instrument is in playable condition.

I'm interested in selling it and would like to get a rough, ballpark range estimate of its value.

Thanks!

Most of the old American made bowl back mandolins in good, playable shape bring $100 to maybe $200. Some of the nicer, well known brands bring more.

Pics would help a lot, but department store mandolins were plentiful, and rarely high end enough to go for more than one or two hundred now at best, if it really needs no repairs. Much as I love old bowlbacks, only a select few are considered collectible.

I sold an old Thornward, (made for MW,) bowlback in a case about 4 years ago for $160.
