I just saw the DGQ in Atlanta last night. Excellent show! Got to see him perform Happy Birthday Bill Monroe (it was Monroe's Birthday) and Grateful Dawg. I haven't seen those performed live yet. He played Opus 38, Opus 57, Dawg's Rag among many other greats. His new guitar player Grant Gordy is something special. He really lit up the crowd. He had some serious bluegrass chops but really showed some jazz skill and Django style playing. He seemed really into being in the band.

Dawg announced a few times that his Acoustic Oasis download site will be up by Oct 1st. I've been waiting on this one for a long time. I got to talk with him after the show and he was ever so gracious with my praises. I let him check out my mandolin and he gave me a pick, along with autographing the first DGQ album, Live w/Grappelli and my wife's Old and in the Way album and the first Earth Opera LP. He was surprised by the latter. I always have all these things I want to ask him but I can never get the words out.

Go Dawg!
