I didn't find much in terms of discussing this brand. They are coated and are expensive. I am going to try the EXP after reading about them here and see if I like them. My standard is the J74's, but have a set of acoustic/electrics on for now. I may try them after I use the EXP's for a bit. So has anyone used the Cleartone mando strings and how are they in comparison to other coated strings?
Thank you.

I've used the Cleartones on my guitar and love them, but I haven't yet tried them on the mando.
I have a pack lying here and they will be on as soon as the present strings need changing.
I'll report back in a few weeks.
Others' comments??

They are excellent strings and I prefer them to Elixirs and EXPs. I use them on another flattop mandolin I play "Celtic" styles on but D'Aquisto 11-40s seem to suit my main A-style one (used mainly for Old Timey) better.

Thanks for the info. Okay... then I may also try them on my guitar as well. I have the GHS white bronze true lights and the E bass is starting to sound dead. Been thinking about trying other than D'Addario's to experiment with. Again, thanks for the reply.

I put on the Cleartone 11-40s two days ago. So far, I like them. Tone is similar to J74s to my ear. The "new string" jangle sound disappeared within 15-20 minutes of playing. There's no squeaky feel to the coated strings like I notice on the EXPs.
Now to see how long they sound good and how they wear.
I'll report when they need changing.
