Dunno about their mandos but they were one of the leading Boston banjo makers in the late 1800's. As I recall there were several members of the family who made (or commissioned) instruments to be sold under their name, individually and in various permutations of brothers, father & son, etc. Mugwumps might have info and certainly a google search would give you some leads.
