Just curious why Joe Craven doesn't record on the Acoustic Disc Label? After so many years with the DGQ it only seems natural. Is his new piece on his own label. Not that it really matters. He's a real talent.
I just got a copy of Django Latino in the mail yesterday and put it on to listen to while cleaning the kitchen. After a couple to cuts I started thinking it wasn't what I expected and probably wouldn't get too much play time. Fortunately, I listened again later when I could concentrate on listening and was hooked.
Joe is an amazing musician and the recording quality is so clean and transparent. (I think I'll spend more time transcribing his violin solos then his mando solos.)
The CD is not bluegrass and anyone expecting BG will probably be disappointed but if you like being exposed to something totally different this CD is different.
I'm glad I gave it a second listen.
