Ok folks I have sent Mr. Kratzer a formal apology through private email, hope he gets this one, although it is going to the same address I sent others. I know I made others of you mad, and I apologize for that also. It was not my intention to "kick somebody when they are down". I was fairly angry and went a little overboard on my remarks. So here is a formal apology to any of the rest of you I have offended. I've recieved a pm myself that there is going to be a petition to ban me from this forum, if thats the case and it happens, well there ain't nothing I can do about that. I'd also like to say that I've read some fairly scathing remarks from other folks on here also, sometimes to myself and sometimes to others, and in the context of some of them to some they are much worse than my statement, but all of us are differant in the way we look at things. So thanks for letting me state this although it might be my last post here, I have enjoyed it. There is alot of smart people on here, way more than I am, and I guess I ain't been around long enough to have good social skills, But this is a great place for info about mandolin music. And by the way, Mr. Kratzer does make some fine sounding mandolins, my feelings about that have not changed.

You can forward that so called petition to ban you over to me and I promise I'll take care of that, along with anyone's name that might appear on it. People that attempt to take control of the forum by going around the moderators and playing self-appointed sheriff, jury and lynch mob are going to run into some problems with me in a big way.

I consider this issue to be resolved, and we are extremely happy to have ALL here in the Cafe as friends.

Hi 300 Win,

It takes guts to apologize, both publicly and privately. I admire you for that.

Apology accepted as far as I am concerned. I'm sure I'll probably be needing to apologize a time or two before I'm done.

Thanks , but it is what any decent person would do. I don't make it a habit to step on other peoples toes.

I don't make it a habit to step on other peoples toes [substitute: breaks].

I wish a certain banjo picker I jam with would heed that advice :mandosmiley:

I think you've handled the situation remarkably well, in a responsible and sincere manner. I for one would hate to see you leave over this incident. You've demonstrated quite clearly you regret having said what you said and how you said it, and since Barry is satisfied with your apology, all the rest of us should be too. You've shown many times you have considerable and valuable insight into mandolins, music, and other aspects of human endeavors. As far as I'm concerned, you are welcome here. I believe this will pass, soon enough.

Thanks for doing this 300. It did take guts to post this. I think everything here will resolve itself, and we can all forget it. No hard feelings .. Kerry K

Please don't anyone leave. We need the power of all. I know I've overstepped the rules from time to time and have appreciated the information from the moderators for correction.
I think developing social skills is a lot like getting better playing the mandolin, both benefit from practice.
This is a great place to hang out!

You just gained a bunch in many of our estimations, win.

And: Many things worth gaining are not done so in the absence of controversy...it's what keeps us coming back for more popcorn and pickin'.

Good that got worked out. There are a few dudes, whom I will not say their names in fear that may re-appear, that wore out their welcomes here and are not missed. They mostly withdrew not because Scott banned them (although he may have) but mostly just because people got to know them and what they were like and it became no fun for them to "troll for trouble" here anymore. We walk a fine line here between being able to express freely, but also understanding that the 'Cafe is not a place where Scott will tolerate certain things or the use of the 'Cafe for people's secret or (not so secret) agendas.
As always, appreciation and thanks to Scott for hosting the best site on the web.

Angel..it's not hard to eat crow..in Texas we can BBQ anything:P
But more to the point. It is a good day when you can go to bed a little wiser and more humble than when you got up. The cafe has a lot of good people and everyone should be allowed a mistake every once in a while.

Well I don't have a clue on what all of you are talking about- some of us are just always left in the dark. Man I'm on this site 24/7 it seems like and I always miss everything:confused: I'm sure it's best that I missed all of this anyway! Well, -what the heck, for what it's worth- I forgive you to. I'm gettin' back to pickin....:mandosmiley:
