I was on a Paul Gilbert YouTube kick and came across this gem. JPJ can play so well...

For some reason, I'm always surprised by what a lovely and sensitive player JPJ is. Don't know why I should be, as he's also shown himself to be a great collaborator in the studio (Uncle Earl comes to mind). Every time I've seen him guest with someone in the last few years, he's been exceptional.

This is another inspirational song for me that will make me practice more. I have tried playing some of this by playing along with the CD. It's really nice to see that this song is played so simply without any huge finger stretches. I might be able to really play it. Love it!

Always admired JPJ's playing on whatever instrument he picks up, the lack of showboating is a real attraction, no distraction from the music.

No mando content, but JPJ just debuted his new project this past Sunday in Chicago. "Them Crooked Vultures" is a hard rocking band with Dave Grohl on drums and Josh Homme on guitar and lead vocals.
