Great musician. If you haven't heard this man's influence you've really missed something. This article on CTM.com (http://www.cmt.com/news/articles/1490456/08202004/seckler_curly.jhtml). His work with the Stanley Brothers is some of my favoritie music of all time. Some of you may not call it bluegrass but I listen to music because it's good. Curly was hip and did what few others could do, and did it so well. Great honor for him.

Don't know too much about him, except that he was with Flatt & Scruggs on some early recordings. Will give him a listen, though!

..well its about dayam time.....too bad its taken so dang long.....one of the true pioneers of the trade....to me he gave F&S "that" sound that we subconsciently hear in our heads when we think about Bluegrass harmony singing....at least in the traditional vein...."Their Building Mansions..But Their Building on Sand"..oh sing it Sech
Ah!!! Yes... - Curly Seckler! - I have a DJ friend/promoter/Bluegrass histotian(who recently "retired' as a Delaware Supreme Court justice - known affectionately in local Bluegrass circles as "The Judge") - Someone once asked him the "true" definition of Bluegrass Music.. ; he replied on-air(parapharasing here) "... listen to anything from Flatt and Scruggs in the Mercury and Columbia years." - primarily the SAME "personnel" for 23+ years... : Lester, Earl, Curly, Jake, Josh'.., Paul Warren.., Benny Martin. Thank you gentlemen, for the wonderful music..., and memories. Often imitated..., never to be equaled(IMHO)- Moose. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif
