in the mid 70's, i was playing in a bluegrass band in knoxville, tn. an all-women bg band called the buffalo gals came to town and played, then we all went to some place out in the country and played music all night. they were a great band. the only ones i remember are susie monik (sp?) on banjo, and martha trachtenberg on guitar.
anyboby know what they're doing now?

I remember seeing Susie Monik at the Philly Folk Festival in '76. She was playing a solid body electric at the time.

Wow,
This post brings back memories.
I saw them a few times in the Seventies at some of Jim Clark's festivals in WV. Anybody ever go to Aunt Minnies farm in Stumptown, WV? They had some notorious festivals in 77 and 78. Even saw Bill Monroe there, once.
I had the Gals album. Wish I still had it.

I think!??## .. Hey Willie.., am I right..??).
