Besides your favorite tortoise shell embergher style plectrum, what commercial picks do you prefer? I play a Tortex Dunlop 1.14 mm... I find it cuts well straight to the point for the tremolo.

Most of the old Italian guys I ever met or played with in the Bay Area all used the lightest pick they could get, usually a thin Herco in nylon, and with a pair of scissors cut them to an even sharper point and played with that.

I just switched picks today, I'm using a dunlop .73 nylon... Absolutely suprising.. I usually like pick harder than 1.0 mm... But I was recommended to switch to it by a bouzoukist, and I actually love it.
