Bah, credits for the tabulator and not for the author.

This powerful tune is called "Josefins Dopvals" (Josefin's Baptism Waltz) and was written by the guitarist of the great Swedish folk band "Väsen": Roger Tallroth.

Is tablature still not considered a representation of original music and as such unprotected by copyrights?

My error! I will edit the tab to reflect the composer asap -- I was not aware of that when I did set up the files. As I did not post this it may take a day or two to fix this. In term of copyright? I don't know -- I do know that there is an ABC arrangement somewhere on the internet and that it is not credited either -- so I'm not the first to put the tune up.

The waltz can also be found in The Waltz Book III--both in the original key of F; and also in the key of G. the Waltz Book is edited by Bill Matthiesen.

Here is a corrected .pdf of the tune Josephine's Baptism Waltz. This version contains the composers name Roger Tallroth. However, as I do not know if copyright prevents this tune from being shown in tablature format I have asked the Mandolin Cafe to eliminate this thread if it is a problem. One complaint has already surfaced and it may be a valid one.

I recommend learning this tune in the original key of F on the mandolin. Here is a link to notation for it.

IMHO, it just sounds great in that key and it has an opportunity for a really sweet double stop at the end of the B part. Also, a great little variation is to dot that C in the second measure of the A part.

I do agree with that as I came across a mandolin version played in that key by another member.

So since the music is published in standard notation already is there a problem with my converting it to tab i.e., a .tef file (in the key of F) and making it available? It seems like just another format for describing the notes -- yes?
