Does anybody know someone that will stamp or engrave tailpiece covers ? If so which is the preferred method. I have a mando that has an engraved cover and tends to scratch my forearm.

I would think a jeweler or maybe even a trophy shop could engrave them, but if they are plated I don't know that the result would be as desired. The person doing the engraving might be able to tell you how well it would work.

There are many engravers. You might try Google.

There is a different look to engraving as opposed to stamping, and you can have any design engraved whereas a stamp is pre-made and can't easily be changed.

Engraving leaves a burr. Thats what's scratching your forearm. If you have the engraving done, then have the part lightly buffed, then plated, that wont be a problem.

Thanks F5,
I've tried all the local engravers and they won't touch it.

Sweet! I can't thank you enough. I thought I was going to be left with a big ol' mirror as a tailpiece.

Re plating (replating), chemicals for gold and setup are simpler than Nickel (but it goes away sooner when you contact/play it.)

but when you up the voltage and leave it in a bit longer the edges get more interesting - little globeuoles form.
