Got this in my email this morning...

--

Our family stayed in Dodge City to play at the Sawlogs and Strings Festival, and left our valuable instruments in our Suburban overnight at the hotel. (Extremely unusual for us.) As we were leaving our hotel this morning, we noticed that the passenger side window was broken, and all of our instruments were stolen.

We would like you to be on alert for any nice instruments, an Taylor acoustic bass guitar, two Taylor guitars, one Rigel mandolin, one Weber mandolin, and two old fiddles. See attached photo. They unfortunately took our cell phone and cameras as well. We think they might try to pawn them in Kansas or Missouri, or Oklahoma.

We would truly appreciate your help. We play in Winfield on Friday night. Trying to get instruments together for that. Call us with questions at our hotel tonight or tomorrow at 620-338-8700 Room 211.
Thank You!

I have a real nice old 7/8 size fiddle they could use, I noticed the girl's fiddle looks small, no bow though. I could UPS it somewhere if they want.

What has happened since then? ....Kerry... PS what exactly were you guys thinking leaving ANY instruments in a vehicle overnight??!!On a positive note,my father's car was broken into at a 7-11 one night in the early 80s.He lost a Gibson es-125 (1952), a mandolin, and a 1950 B and D Silver Belle tenor banjo. After 1 year and 3 days, he got a call from the cops that they had all his instruments. The guy had waited a year to unload them, and then tryed to sell them to this woman whom he did'nt know was a born again christian. She gave him $100 ,got all the axes, and drove strait down to the copshop with them. I hope they find their way back to you...
