I realize of course that Ralph is not a mandolin player (at least not that I'm aware of anyway), but being one of the foundation stones of Bluegrass, I figure I might get away with a brief note about him here..........
What the heck did he do to his face???? (zoom in)

Where did you get that picture and when was it taken? It looks like stroke damage.

That's a bad picture of Dr. Ralph. It doesn't even look like him.
Last time I saw him (which was a few months ago) he looked great.
I hope I can pick and play as long as he has been! :mandosmiley:

It just looks like he has a couple of band-aids on. Could be something as simple as bee stings or having something burned off. Heck, I am 36 years younger than Dr. Ralph and I have had moles burned off.

I think I read somewhere in the past couple of weeks that Dr. Ralph was fooling around with and AC unit and some how got injured.

Ralph plays the mandolin? Didn't know that! I found the picture online, but don't recall where....

It was back in April - here's the full story:

Looked all healed up at Rothbury over July 4th. Fun show.
