View Full Version : Schatten VVM, Anyone using this ?
Does anyone have any info on this pickup? I have the need to amplify without loosing too much tone.

I don't know anything about their mandolin pickups, but my Dad had one put into his dobro that he had built for him by Bill Blue down in Florida. He said it's way better than the Fishman version, which was modeled after Schatten, just like their pickups for other instruments. In fact, I heard Schatten has a lawsuit with Fishman because of that.

Hi Dave:
I have a Schatten M-02 Pro pickup on my Weber mandolin. I'm not sure how is differs from the WM, but I find the tone if very good. Plugged directly into the amp, I set the treble control to 3 (of 10) and the bass to 6 which seems to give a pretty accurate tone. This pickup is made for mandolin and a pre-amp is not required.
