Friends, I have an F-4 (1913) that longs for an original pickguard. Any suggestions as to how we might find a suitable replacement? Also, a cafe member has an A model pickguard. Anyone know if these will fit?
Thanks, folks. Michael

Steve Gilchrist made a replica pickguard for my 1914 F2 several years ago. You might try him.

A few years ago I bought an F-4 with the place where pickguard joins the fingerboard broken off. I also happened to have a pickguard from an A model I accidently sold without the pickguard.
I don't know if I was incredibly luck or not, but the A model pickguard and the pin that goes into the fingerboard fit almost perfectly. The mandolins were made about a decade apart.

Darryl Wolfe made me a super nice repro for my 1918 F4, complete with that cool little patent stamp and everything. He even cleaned and restored my original clamp at no extra charge. http://www.f5journal.com/reproductions.html
