I can find very few on the net. They are a great value and sound fantastic.....at least mine does. Post a photo of your Japanese made KM-1000 if you can.
I can't recall if the Kentucky Dawg models were KM-1000's or KM-1500's. Anyway, here's Dawg mandola. Recently departed, she now resides in Italy. It was a wonderful sounding instrument, very warm. The neck played very well with a radius fretboard. These were Sumi built instruements.
What you see up there is not a crack or a scratch. It's the edge of the adhesive pickguard the previous owner installed. Here's the headstock.

Nice photos all! Did anyone see the KM-1500 on ebay last week? It closed at 1650.00 and was not sold. Looks like a beauty!
