I'll be going to the Didmarton Bluegrass Picking Weekend (http://didmarton-bluegrass.co.uk/) in September... Any UK-based cafe members going too? If so, let's catch up there!

I fully intended to go but ended up double-booked by accident (I shall be enjoying Copenhagen instead, so all is not lost http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif)

I will be at the Cornish Bluegrass Festival (http://www.cornishbluegrass.co.uk) next month, though. Anyone else going to be at that one?

Have either of you been to the Sorefingers bluegrass camp?

If so, we may have met (albeit probably in the bar http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif ) in April.

If not, you should definitely check it out. Tim O'Brien is the mandolin tutor next year...

Oh yes, it is definitely worth it. You will have the time of your life!

I went this year, the first time I'd ever done anything like it, and had a fantastic week. Not only did I learn a lot, but the atmosphere of the school was perfect and so much fun.

I was in the beginner's class this year, but the week gave me the confidence to go in for the mandolin class next year. When I heard who was teaching it I signed up straight away.

If you are really interested in doing it, check out the Yahoo group (linked from the website). Any questions you have will be answered on there.
