Mel Bay has a book out "Mandolin Scales and Studies." It is 152 pages of most every kind of mando scale you could think of.

I wrote some Scale Theory (http://p077.ezboard.com/fgreenandgrayfrm8.showMessage?topicID=52.topic) articles over on the Green & Grey mando board. You might find them usefull.

Music scored for trumpet works for mando players, too. I've been working with Pares scales for trumpet for over a year now.

the FFcP scales, which are linked on the home page of the mandolincafe are a great starting point. You can also find a ton of scale related stuff here ...

http://www.amazon.com/exec....=507846 (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0739034731/qid=1092705504/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl14/103-3696474-1026217?v=glance&s=books&n=507846)

I think I covered all but some of the really esoteric "exotic" scales in the book. All the scales I presented have transposable fingering diagrams in addition to standard notation and TABs.

Hope this helps ...

Yeah but your C on the trumpet is a Bb on the mandolin. (In case you're ever planning a duet.)
