Hi guys

I have got a Kentucky mandolin KM-604 (A model) which is just over 20 years old , It belonged to my since departed brother who had it from new and was a pro player.
I know at the time he payed quite a bit for it , i now own and play it and would never sell it because of the sentimental value alone but for insurance purposes i have absolutley no idea what its worth and neither does any music shops i have tried , i cant even find the instrument on line as i am sure it has been discontinued. I emailed Kentucky mandolins / saqa instruments direct but they never responded
I know the sentimental value is priceless (to me anyway) as it has even appeared on a few well known recordings, but i would still love to have a financial value on the instrument.
If anybody wants to see a photo or two for a better idea drop me a line and i can oblige

Many thanks

My guess would be between $200 and $300 depending on condition.

A number of vintage instrument dealers can write you up an insurance evaluation that you can send to your insurance agency. Usually coasts about 100.00. Gruhn Guitars for example.

That instrument is probably not worth enough to worry about the evaluation.

If you're looking for insurance value then contact George Gruhn (http://www.gruhn.com). In the event of an insurance claim his credentials could be the difference between being paid the acutal value and not. If you're looking to value it for resale understand that you'll never get the amount that George values it at. George will charge $50.00 for the online appraisal.

Yea, may be less than the deductible part of the policy , unless you pay premiums based on Zero deductible ,
that usually raises the monthly bill aways.
