Currently been listening to heaps of French guitarist Titi Robin. He also plays bouzouki and oud.

Not easy to buy, but you can download.

His live album Anita! is amazing. Fantastic musician.

Yes, he´s indeed a great musician who also brings together so many people due to his work.
Two years ago I saw Titi Robin on a festival here in Germany. He played with Francis Varis (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HmJW1Fz7ygM) and Zé Luis Nascimento (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qo5o_at8W00&feature=related) (who has also played with Hamilton De Holanda btw.). This was a wonderful and inspiring concert. Their playing was so intensive and so well together that we were nearly moved to tears that night.

Very creative playing, and listening.....He would be a good match for Darol Anger and Mike Marshall.

Thanks Michael for the YouTube clips! Robin´s 1990 album "Luth & tabla" was one of my first oud albums ever (some buzuq tracks, too). It´s still great to listen - wonderful player!

Thanks for the links, Dagger and Micheal -- that is some excellent music and playing, and I love its east-meets-west vibe.

BTW, you all might also enjoy Ensemble Mactub (http://www.mandolincafe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=51402), which features mandolin, oud, bass, and percussion. Right now they don't have any recordings for sale, but I understand they will be releasing a CD in the not too distant future.
